Genius Maker - School software - Chemistry softwareCHARLES LAW ANIMATION SOFTWARE |
The Gas laws is a chemistry animation software, which facilitates to visualise and understand the universal gas laws namely, Boyles law, Charles law and Gay-lussac's law. In other words, this software helps students to understand the gas laws and the significance of the ideal gas law equation PV = nRT. The users can change the physical parameters as per their choice and see the effects with in an animated piston cylinder arrangement.

BOYLES LAW
Select Boyles law from the "Select a law" window.
NOTE: This process assumes that the temperature is kept at a constant value.
Just click and drag the piston by using mouse to either side.
You will see that the piston moves and hence the volume changes. You will also see that the pressure of the system changes in accordance with the Boyles law. Another way to change the volume is to move the volume slider from the controls window itself.
Now you may try changing the pressure by using the pressure slider from the controls window. You will see that the volume of the system changes automatically in accordance with the Boyles law.
CHARLES LAW
Select Charles law from the "Select a law" window.
NOTE: This process assumes that the pressure is kept at a constant value.
Just click and drag the piston by using mouse to either side.
You will see that the piston moves and hence the volume changes. You will also see that the temperature of the system changes in accordance with the Charles law. Another way to change the volume is to move the volume slider from the controls window itself. You can see the change in velocity of the gas particles as temperature changes.
Now you may try changing the temperature by using the temperature slider from the controls window. You will see that the volume of the system changes automatically in accordance with the Charles law.
GAY-LUSSAC'S LAW
Select Gay-Lussac's law from the "Select a law" window.
NOTE: This process assumes that the volume is kept at a constant value.
Since it is a constant volume process, the piston movement is arrested and hence you cannot click and drag the piston by using mouse.
Change the pressure value by moving the pressure slider and you will notice that the temperature of the system also changes automatically in accordance with Gay-Lussac's law.
Now you may try changing the temperature by using the temperature slider from the controls window. You will see that the pressure of the system changes automatically in accordance with Gay-Lussac's law.
PLAY WITH PARAMETERS
Select "Play with all parameters to see their effect" from the "Select a law" window.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This section is intended solely for students to understand the effect of any one parameter at a time. It does not reflect the behaviour of other parameters due to change in one parameter. Hence it is not a real life situation.
You may move the pressure slider forward or backward to pressurise or depressurise.
You may see what happens to the gas molecules.
You may move the volume slider (or piston) forward or backward to increase or decrease volume.
You may see what happens to the gas molecules.
You may move the temperature slider forward or backward for cooling or for heating the gas.
You may see what happens to the gas molecules.
You may move the Number of mole slider forward or backward to increase or decrease the number of moles of gas particles present in the cylinder.
You may see what happens to the gas molecules.
