Features:

The Prime Numbers is a mathematics educational software, which facilitates to check whether a given number is a prime number or not. You may list out the prime numbers in a given range of numbers. Also this software supports for taking a printout of the list of prime numbers in the given range. 

How to start with Prime Numbers software ?

• Open Genius Maker software and click "Prime Numbers" button. It opens the Prime Numbers window.
• You may see 2 menus, namely, "Check a number for Prime" and "Check a range of numbers for Prime". The first can be used to find out whether a given number is prime or not. The second one is used for finding the list of prime numbers in a given range of numbers.

Check a number for Prime

• Type any number in the first menu, say 23,  which you want to check whether it is a prime number.
• Click "Check for Prime" button in the same menu.
• The text box turns to green colour and the message below says " The number 23 is a prime number. It has no factors other than 1 and 23. "
• Now let us type the number 143.
• Click "Check for Prime" button in the same menu.
• The text box turns red colour and the message below says " The number 143 is NOT a prime number. Because it is divisible by 11. " You may note that, whenever a number is not a prime number, the software says that it is not prime and also mentions about the smallest number which is a factor of this number. In this case it is 11.
• Now let us type the number 666713.
• Click "Check for Prime" button in the same menu.
• The text box turns red colour and the message below says " The number 666713 is NOT a prime number. Because it is divisible by 653. " It means that the number 666713 has no factors in the number range of 1 to 652. The number 653 is the smallest factor of 666713. 
• Now let us type the number 2127935981.
• Click "Check for Prime" button in the same menu.
• The text box turns to green colour and the message below says it is a prime number.

Check a range of numbers for Prime

• Type any range of numbers in the second menu, say from 1000 to 1600,  which you want to check for prime numbers.
• Click "Check for Prime" button in the same menu.
• The software will take some time for finding the prime numbers, depending on the specified range. You may press the "STOP" button at any time, if you want to terminate the searching process.
• After completion of search, you can see the results displayed in the output text box.
• A typical output box result looks as shown below.

• You may note that the software shows the result of every number. It also shows the smallest factor for every non-prime number. Some times, you may be interested to see only the list of prime numbers. In such cases, you may select the check box titled "Show only the list of Prime numbers" and then click the button "Check for Prime" .
• After completion of search, you can see the results displayed in the output text box.
• A typical output box result looks as shown below.

• Twins in prime numbers are a really interesting subject. Twins are nothing but, 2 prime numbers, which are separated by just one number (of course, the separating number will be an even number). Importance of twin numbers is that twin numbers do occur even in very large numbers. Do you know the years 1997 and 1999 were twin prime numbers. Can you guess which years will be the next twin prime numbers ? Find out by using this software or wait for 20 years ! 

Additional Feature:

• Print : If you want to take a printout of the display area, it is easy. Just click the "Print" button on top. It opens the Printer dialog. Select options for printer, paper orientation and number of copies etc and then click print.
